A recent post from the The Wall Street Journal claims that Nintendo is having a hard time attaining parts for the Switch due to a heavy demand from companies like Apple. If this remains a problem, Nintendo might not be able to reach their goal of 20 million units by the end of the fiscal year due to them not being able to produce enough units. But there is a way around this. Nintendo could pay more for the parts and, in turn, be selling the Switch at a loss or have to up the Switch’s price. I don’t think Nintendo will sell their console at a loss, nor do I think they will up the price. So it seems that Nintendo will probably just not sell as many units as they might have been able to otherwise.
